A self running system that waters 6+ plants for up to 1 month – Handmade in Egypt.
Clayola (a box of 6 clay pots) is a self running system that waters 6+ plants for weeks using nothing but gravity. Perfect for when you’re traveling and worried your plants are in the right hands. Its design guarantees each plant gets the exact amount of water it needs at no risk of over or under irrigation. Clayola is handmade by local Egyptian artisans out of clay; a natural porous material that allows the transfer of water from the Clayola pot to the soil. As water evaporates from a plant’s leaves, it draws water from the soil and as the soil dries up water is drawn from the Clayola to the soil. In Effect the plant extracts the water it needs from each clay pot. After a while a plant’s root system will find the source of water and literally hug the Clayola, allowing for maximum water use. The glazed top prevents water from evaporating into the air. This system is far more efficient than drip irrigation or other methods. a 20 Liter water container can sustain 6 to 8 plants for weeks in the summer, and over a month during winter. We recommend that our clients re-route renewable water sources to the water tank (such as rain drainage, or air conditioner precipitation tubes) to take advantage of the centralized water source and save water.
